The annual Fiesta every September marks the landing of King Jaime I in Santa Ponsa on 12 September 1229 to capture Mallorca from the Moors.

In 2013 the main Fiesta celebrations run from Sunday 1 September to Sunday 8 Setember

Events to look out for include:

Monday 2 September
10pm: Cinema on the Beach - Skyfall (007) in Spanish but with English subtitles

Tuesday 3 September
7pm: Activities for children - behind the beach
10pm Nit de Foc (Night of Fire) on Santa Ponsa Beach follwed by a Rock Concert in the Woods (11pm)

Wednesday 4 September
4-9pm: Activities for cildren - behind the beach

Thursday 5 September
12 Noon - Midnight: Medieval Market on the Promenade at the back of the beach - including activities for children in a medieval style venue (up to 10pm)
8pm: Commemorative acts, remember the first landing in 1229 - at the Cross overlooking Santa Ponsa Marina
10pm: Delivery of the Flags and presenting the Kings & Queens ceremony at the back of the beach

Thursday 5 September
12 Noon - Midnight: Medieval Market on the Promenade at the back of the beach - including activities for children in a medieval style venue (up to 10pm)
8pm: Procession by the Moors, setting off from behind the beach and going around town, returning to the beach area
10pm: Outdoor concert by Coldday (Coldplay Tribute Band) and Alvarez D'Rock

Saturday 7 September
12 Noon: Swim across the Bay of Santa Ponsa (entry can be made on the day between 10.30 and 11.30 am)
12 Noon - Midnight: Medieval Market on the Promenade at the back of the beach - including activities for children in a medieval style venue (up to 10pm)
5.30pm: Gathering of the Christian's ships in and gathering of the Moorish troops - at the Cross overlooking the Marina by the 'Little Beach' - this is followed by a procession from the Cross to the main beach and the Moors and Chistians throw sweets to gathering children along the way. When they get to the beach they reconstruct events of 1229 and engage in a battle on the main beach - if you can get a bet on with William Hill or Ladbrokes, stick a few bob on the Chsitians (they always win!!!)
10pm: King's Party with DJ Chico Malo and some surorise guests. This takes place at the back of the beach.

Sunday 8 September
12 Noon - 10pm: Midday - Midnight: Medieval Market on the Promenade at the back of the beach - including activities for children in a medieval style venue (up to 9pm)
6.30pm: Meeting of the Giants - a site worth seeing - at the Plaza Pineda by the beach.
7pm: Holy Mass at Santa Ponsa Church
9.30pm: Folk Dancing in the Plaza Pineda
10pm: Grand Finale and Firework Display on Santa Ponsa Beach - not to be missed.
